Geography and history

The Capricorn region is the economically most powerful region in the Limpopo Province in South Africa. The name of this region derives from the geographical line that crosses through it. The rapidly growing city of Polokwane is found at the centre of this region and therefore acts as the perfect base for tourists to explore the rest of the province.

Just outside Polokwane is the Bakone Malapa Open-air Museum and is a must-see for tourists visiting this region because it is a living exhibition of local African Culture.
